GREEN ISAS: NEIW UPDATES FUND SUPERMARKETS RATINGS
Smile and Fair Investment have once again come out on top in the second year of National Ethical Investment Week’s (NEIW) mystery shopping exercise to identify the best fund supermarkets for green and ethical stocks and shares ISAs. In the second NEIW Five Star Ratings, Hargreaves Lansdown and Interactive Investor are awarded four star ratings. Eleven other fund supermarkets, including Barclays Stockbrokers and Fidelity FundsNetwork, are awarded three star ratings.
The fund supermarkets and discount brokers awarded four and five stars stand out as providing the most support for investors looking to identify green and ethical funds. For example, they provide up to date guides that explain the range of options and/or offer a filter tool that helps investors identify relevant funds.
Research from YouGov for NEIW conducted in October last year revealed that more than half (54%) of GB adults want to make money and make a difference with their savings and investments.
Penny Shepherd MBE, chief executive of UKSIF, the sustainable investment and finance association that coordinates NEIW, said: “Choosing a green and ethical investment can be a positive way for individuals to show their support for companies demonstrating responsible business practices and helping to combat climate change. With leading fund supermarkets and discount brokers now providing support for green and ethical options, it has become easier for investors to understand and identify funds that match their individual requirements.”
The full results of the survey are as follows:
***** Fair Investments, Smile
