A successful company with strong ethical values
Since March 1988, Ecclesiastical Investment Management Limited has been at the forefront of socially responsible investing. Head of Investments Sue Round launched one of the UK’s first retail ethical investment funds – the Amity UK Fund – over 20 years ago and we now offer a full range of socially responsible Amity screened Funds to give your clients the opportunity to diversify across asset classes and regions.
We have an expert team of investment managers and analysts, and recognise that our people are the key to our success. Many key members of staff have been with Ecclesiastical Investment Management for over a decade. For example, Sue Round our Head of Investments and Amity UK Fund Manager has been with us for 25 years.
Giving something back
We value our staff and the communities where we operate. As one of the UK’s top Ten Corporate Donors, Ecclesiastical Insurance Group have donated almost £48 million in charitable grants over the past 15 years. We support charities and community organisations, wherever possible, which have been nominated and chosen by Ecclesiastical employees - providing the resources of staff to offer professional advice and expertise plus volunteers to work on specific projects.
Today with £1.5billion currently under management we are financially secure and confident that our socially responsible investment approach, and wider business culture of looking after our people and communities – stands us in good stead for the future.
Our credentials
We’re a British owned business with group assets of over £1 billion and net assets of over £200 million. We have around 175,000 customers across the globe.
We’re regularly audited by industry rating agencies such as A.M. Best and Standard & Poor’s. These agencies give us a current ratings of A and A- respectively, a good indication of our financial strength and stability.
Profit with principles
Over the past two decades, our focus has been to refine our unique approach to socially responsible investing. Profit with principles remains the goal of our Socially Responsible Investment Team, which engages with companies actively prior to making a decision.
Making informed decisions prior to investment is crucial to maintaining our position as focused socially responsible investment managers and providing the kind of service we believe that ethical investors are looking for. We believe the success of our award-winning socially responsible screened Amity Fund range is proof that this approach works.
At Ecclesiastical, we are one of the few ethical investment managers who look beyond negative screening alone. Essentially, we seek out and say ‘yes’ to companies whose products and practices are helping to build a safer, cleaner, better world. There are nine positive attributes that we look for to identify companies who make a positive input to their environment – both environmentally and socially.
